Total Renovation of Farmhouse Kitchen

Jane and Alan approached us whilst planning the total renovation of their Farmhouse Kitchen, a project which was to feature on the TV Series George Clarke’s Old House New Home.

When Jane contacted us, she explained that the beams in the house were one of the features that attracted them to the property but were equally something they hated as the dark colour was so oppressive.

Jane says “Having a new kitchen was the push we needed to see what we could do
to change them (the beams). We looked at several possible methods to transform them, but having carried out a lot of research, we were impressed and intrigued by Back from Black’s concept of transformation to a natural colour we wanted, without any mess or damage to the beams”.

She continues “We chatted with Lucy and Nick who were really helpful and it was clear to us that as the family business who had invented their unique no mess process, they weretheteamtoworkwith. Iconfesswe were a little nervous when they came to carryout the job right at the end of the kitchen build when all our units were in and the floor cleaned – but we need not have worried. The process was, as they said it would be, mess free”.

Alan concludes “The beams are one of the most important finishing touches to our kitchen renovation. The room feels bright and airy and so much bigger without the darkness of the beams above us. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. The transformation of the beams totally surpassed our expectations”.
