Former Coach House, Buckinghamshire

The beams in the vaulted ceiling of this former coach house in Buckinghamshire had been recently exposed following the removal of a false ceiling. The result was some very dirty, rough, and dark beams but with huge potential to create an airy living room with height and light.

Light, cool toned grey

The beams in the vaulted ceiling of this former coach house in Buckinghamshire had been recently exposed following the removal of a false ceiling. The result was some very dirty, rough, and dark beams but with huge potential to create an airy living room with height and light.

Anna had an ‘old meets new’ vision for the room with modern furniture and smooth and crisp white walls combining with period features and exposed beams to create a Scandi style.

When planning the work on the property, Anna spoke to a friend who was part of the production team on the George Clarke Old House, New Home TV series and
had therefore seen our work on previous episodes. Having spoken to Anna about her plans for the property, tastes and ultimate finished look, we agreed on a variant of
our weathered grey finish, toned down to provide that cool, light Scandinavian style she wanted for the house. Now completed, this historic house has a new lease of life where the beams have become a key feature instead of being hidden away.

Treatment/Finish: Light, cool toned grey
